Artists I greatly admire artists. I'm envious of the ability to create objects or images that capture the imagination. It is nothing short of amazing.
Below you will find a link to a list of my favorite artists and sites of interest regarding them. If you're adventurous choose random to send you to a random webpage of an artist, subject or medium of my choosing. Either way you may learn something.

Museums My love of travel has grown stronger and stronger over the years . And on most trips I include time at a local museum.
Each museum shows a bit of the character of the area and a different collection of artists. The most enjoyable part of the trip is finding a piece or an artist I've never heard of that I really enjoy. Discovering something new is very satisfying, like solving a puzzle or uncovering a treasure.
On many trips the museum itself is an attraction, such as the National Museum of the American Indian in New York City, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art or the Getty Center in Los Angeles. Walking through these places adds a great deal to the collections they contain. You will find pages on the some of my favorite museums on the museum link or you can jump to a random museum of my choosing...

To me, art is a way of exploring possibilities. It can communicate, inspire and provoke emotion or thought in ways other mediums cannot. It is simple to say a painting or sculpture cannot affect the life of the everyday person. However, working and money and gathering possessions are not what we are meant for.

We are meant for art. To express. To create. To achieve.

When we create the same forces move us as those that moved Picasso, Da Vinci, and Rembrant. Because our results are different or less recognized the act of creation is just as important. This is why I draw.

My own drawings are simple and private. I do them for myself and I rarely show them to anyone. This way I can keep my perspective, somewhat, pure and develop my own style in my own way. At least that's my thinking on the subject. I'm rarely satisfied with the end result of my drawing, but I know if I don't try I will never succeed, and I've been pleased with my results with more frequency as time has gone on.

A goal of this webpage is to take some risks in learning and expression. In keeping with this idea I’ve put up some of the drawings I’m pleased with, to view. Many of these have never been seen. I hope they are enjoyed. Comments on them are welcome.
