This museum actually operates two facilities. The Ho-Am Museum of Art, the main facility, near Everland park and the
Ho-Am Gallery in Chung district in the city of Seoul. In June of 1997 I had the opportunity
to visit the Ho-Am Art Gallery on a visit to Seoul.
The gallery is conveniently located just a 10 minute walk from Seoul Station in
downtown Seoul. Seoul station is a central navigation point in the city and is on
both the Seoul subway system and the national train lines.

The gallery itself is small. Two floors with several rooms handling contemporary works from Korean artists. Most of the pieces I saw on my trip were paper and canvas paintings and a few sculptures.
I thought the selections and presentations of the pieces were nicely. The layout of the galleries and the selection of the pieces made for a pleasant visit.
Not only was the art put together nicely but the Ho-Am was a bargain. Admission was 3000 Won ($2.50) and in the gallery shop I found several small items for under $5. Other than postcards it's hard to find anything under $5 in a museum shop.

The Ho-Am Gallery is combined with the Ho-Am theater which presents Korean theater and music. Also there is a presentation of events in Korean history by the Ho-Am newspaper. The newspaper also provides 3 public internet terminals.

this facility is very nice if you have an hour or so to pass in Seoul. The prices are very affordable and a nice place to relax and maybe discover an interesting piece or two.
